The DVD Shelf Movie Reviews: Total Recall (1990)
Sunday, August 19, 2012 at 9:38PM The DVD Shelf Movie Reviews is back… from the future! Recently, Hollywood has made an attempt to wipe the original Total Recall from your memory banks, but I’m here to remember it for you - wholesale. I’ll delve into the Schwarzenegger classic beginning with the original Philip K. Dick short story that inspired it, the film’s lengthy development, and how they pulled it all together. And, yes, we’ll even look at that remake. Lastly, I’ll give Total Recall’s “Mind-Bending Edition” Blu-Ray my final recommendation. The DVD Shelf Movie Reviews is hosted by David Rose.

Once again you have done amazing work. I mean I understand doing a one man show, BUT DAMN I wish I was as half as good as you. But keep up the great work and I await your next video.
Hey Dave,
Haven't had a chance to watch in a while, but your mom was telling me about your shout out on Kevin Smith's podcast so I had to stop by. I absolutely loved the DVD Shelf for Total Recall. Unlike you, I am not brave enough to see the remake, (maybe a free rental from the library some day), mostly because I enjoy the original so much. I remember when I went to the theater to see it and who I was with. In fact, Total Recall, Blade Runner, and Minority Report inspired me to go back and read some of Phillip K. Dick's work. I have read Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep and We Can Remember It For You Wholesale among many others. Dick really was ahead of his time, and his works are both thought provoking and entertaining. It is amazing to me how other scifi writers of the era with similar style, like Ray Bradbury, seemed to find commercial success, but he did not. Anyway, sorry this is getting too wordy, just wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed this and congrats on the shout out.
