The Office: Final with Colored Pencil
The Office: Final with Colored Pencil
Welcome to The Dunder Mifflin Paper Company (Scranton, PA branch). Steve Carell has defined his career with his incredible portrayal of the ignorant, awkward, moronic, yet determined regional manager Michael Scott. And with a brilliantly realistic supporting cast and endless awkward situations, this American version of The Office (based on Ricky Gervais' original) has become one of the decade's most influential and funny TV shows. I'm a relatively newer fan of the show, only discovering it in the middle of its sixth season, so unlike many who've been with it since the beginning, I still find the show to be really entertaining, even though many feel the show has run its course. And now with Steve Carell leaving the show at the end of this season, we'll have to see if the show can withstand and prosper without him. And to commemorate Carell's departure, I wanted to do an art piece that is a bit different than other stuff you've seen on here. Even though I wanted to capture the essence of the mundane, average, and (somewhat) normal people that populate The Office, I wanted to give it a little twist by delving into the realm of caricature, giving it a uniquely humorous overall look. And, for the first time, you all can see the step-by-step process of creating one of these pieces by clicking on the following images! Created with water colors and colored pencils on illustration board.
